VISITORS to the museum in Daventry got to see an array of sporting memorabilia from the town.

There were more than 90 visitors to the museum’s sporting exhibition held at the town council offices in New Street on Saturday.

Exhibitiors included Squire Racing with two of their stock cars for people to see and a display about their history along with Daventry Dolphins who are celebrating 50 years of the club.

Other groups who were on display include Daventry Indoor Bowls club who put on a demonstration, Badby and Daventry photographic clubs who showed some amazing photos, Rugby and Daventry Sailing Club with a sailboat, Daventry Amateur Athletics Club and Daventry Leisure Centre.

Lynn Scott, administration and communications officer for Daventry Town Council who run the museum, said: “We hoped there would have been more visitors in this Olympic year.

“However it was well received by those who visited.

“All have expressed an interest in taking part in future years and, hopefully, it will expand and grow to become another popular town exhibition.”
