A WHOLLY disappointing second-half performance saw the Motormen lose their way in a dour battle away against Yaxley.
Despite going into an early lead thanks to a goal from Jon Crockett in a move which started with Ben Foster, Daventry let slip their advantage to lose the game 2-1.
The defeat saw the Cuckoos move another step towards safety in a game which offered little comfort for United boss Darran Foster.
He said in the first-half his players had played tremendous and could have scored two or three goals before half-time but in complete contrast the second-half saw little chances go Daventry’s way.
After Crockett’s goal in the 19th minute, Mark Boucher equalised for Yaxley in the 37th minute after sloppy defending to put the sides all square at the interval.
To complete the Motormen’s disappointment, Andrew Beech won the game for the home side in a second-half which saw the Motormen fail to step up a gear.
