The Highways Agency is warning motorists about a series of overnight closures on the M1 and A14 near Catthorpe, for resurfacing.
The work, which will be carried out in two phases, will take place Mondays to Saturdays from 8pm to 6am.
The first phase runs from Monday, October 14 to Saturday, November 9 and involves a full closure of the M1 southbound between junctions 20 and 19, lane closures from junctions 19 to 18 and a full closure of the A14 eastbound between the M1 and junction 1.
Traffic will be diverted from the M1 junction 20 to the A4303 and the A5 to rejoin the M1 at junction 18. Vehicles wanting to use the eastbound A14 will be diverted to M1 junction 15 and the A45 to rejoin the A14 at junction 13.
The second phase starts on Monday, November 11 until Friday, December 6 when the A14 westbound from junction 2 to the M1 will close.
Traffic will be advised to leave the A14 at junction 13 and travel along the A45 to rejoin the M1 at junction 15. Traffic going past junction 13 will be diverted off the A14 at junction 8 and along the A43 to Northampton and the A45 to join the M1 at junction 15.
Highways Agency project manager Mark Braithwaite said:“We will be using multiple road crews to complete the work as quickly as possible and are committed to keeping one carriageway of the A14 open at all times.”
