Dozens of people joined in a national dance event at the Tesco store in Daventry’s New Street on Saturday, January 25.
The event was organised by Tesco at its stores across the country in aid of its chosen charity Diabetes UK.
Wendy Randall, who works at the Daventry store, said: “The idea was to promote people having fun while being active, which can obviously help prevent diabetes, and improve the condition as well.
They had a mass dance to Cha Cha Slide. I’d say around 40 or 50 people joined in at the store, along with the Mayor of Daventry Cllr Mark Wesley.
It was very good, although the amount raised on the day hasn’t been worked out yet. The company is hoping the nationwide event will have been a world record, but that has to be certified by Guinness World Records.”
