Just under 200 people seized the chance to meet Neil Baldwin and his friend Malcolm Clarke at a screening of acclaimed biopic Marvellous on Saturday, January 17 at St Margaret’s Church, Crick.

The movie, which is part musical, part drama and part fantasy was released last year on BBC Two, impressing critics.

The film charts the life of Mr Baldwin, a registered clown and honorary graduate of Keele University who made an impression with the audience which gave him a standing ovation.

The two VIPs finished off the evening by signing autographs and taking questions from the audience.

Reverend David Lake said: “It was a truly inspiring film, reflecting an incredibly inspiring individual; a must-watch movie”.
