A VOLUNTARY group was joined by staff from DHL to help give a fresh lick of paint to a community centre in Daventry.

Brushes and Spades spent three days painting the gymnasium at the Phoenix Centre.

The group was joined on one day by volunteers from DHL. The firm also funded or sourced all the materials used during the project with the co-operation of B&Q and Homebase.

Brushes and Spades is based at Daventry Volunteer Centre and is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The group offers volunteering places to people who may need extra support, primarily helping the elderly and disabled with DIY and gardening.
