The first of two free Christmas lantern workshops takes place tomorrow - Saturday November 14.

People can make their own festive handmade lantern at Daventry Town Councils first workshop running from noon to 5pm in the Dolphin Suite of Phoenix Youth Centre, Ashby Road Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 0QE.

The event is free and open to anyone who would like to take part in the lantern parade through the town centre to mark the switching on of the Christmas lights on Friday December 4 at 6.30pm

Lanterns take between one and two hours to make. To guarantee your space please call 01327 301246 or email lorna.white@daventrytowncouncil.gov.uk.

Children aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult, and bring an old t-shirt as you may get messy!

Next Saturday’s workshop on November 21 will be at the Community Centre.

Or you can follow the instructions to create your own at home.
