World day of prayer to be marked in Daventry

WOMEN’S World Day of Prayer will be celebrated at the start of next month with a service in Daventry.

More than three million people worldwide will be praying and worshipping together during the annual day, using a form of service prepared by Christian women in Malaysia.

The day will be celebrated on Friday, March 2 in more than 170 countries and aims to promote justice for all.

In Malaysia women still face discrimination and girls are seen as ‘less valuable’ than boys.

A service will be held at Daventry Methodist Church at 2pm. Miss Brenda Hole will be a guest speaker.
