Work set to start on new homes
A HOMES developer has announced they will be building nearly 400 new homes in the county over the next 12 months including 150 near Brixworth.
Barrat Homes has announced iot will start work on two new developments over the next year.
The new housing development, which includes a new play area, car park and access road was given the go-ahead by Daventry District Council’s (DDC) planning committee.
This was despite sttrong opposition from hundreds of residents who formed Brixworth Residents Against New Estates as well as the parish councils in Brixworth, Scaldwell and Boughton.
DDC received 175 letters of objection against the plans.
Sue Blackman, sales director for Barratt Homes, said: “Buyer confidence is steadily improving and we’re seeing encouraging demand for our homes.
“The fact that we are starting new sites is also good news for local sub-contractors and the supply chain.
“We continue to highly value the strong relationships we have with our partners in the build process.”
The housebuilder has also revealed that a further 240 homes will also be built in Brackley.
