Improvements to Daventry District Council’s website are making it even easier for tablet and smartphone users to access services on the go.
A more streamlined system means less form-filling to access services, while a range of new features have also been added. Pages also resize better for improved viewing on smaller screens such as those on tablets and smartphones.
The changes are designed to improve the Self Service system, which allows users to request new recycling boxes or voting registration forms as well as report issues in need of remedy.
Newly developed features include alarm registrations, loft or cavity wall insulation requests, hate crime and anti-social behaviour reporting as well as parking permit requests – all of which can now be completed online by filling out a single form.
The next stage of improvements will see the introduction of new maps optimised for use on touchscreens, making it even easier to pinpoint a location related to an enquiry.
Councillor Wayne Howard, access and communication portfolio holder on Daventry District Council, said: “There has been a phenomenal increase in the use of tablets and smartphones to access council services online in recent years. These improvements are designed to make it easier for those users to access the Council’s website.
“There are now fewer steps to take to access services online, the forms themselves have a crisper, cleaner look and the number of services that are available online is increasing all the time.”
