Daventry Police has joined forces with Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Daventry Volunteer Centre to hold joint events to find out more about volunteering.
Information and advice will be available on volunteering opportunities with all three organisations including:
- Becoming a special constable, police cadet, behind the scenes volunteer or joining the Street Watch community patrol initiative with Northamptonshire Police.
- Working with Daventry Volunteer Centre’s Happy at Home Partnership to help with home fire safety checks.
- Joining Daventry Volunteer Centre’s schemes including the Happy at Home Partnership and Daventry Time Bank.
The first event will take place from 3.30pm to 7pm on Tuesday at Long Buckby fire station. The second is from 3pm to 4.30pm on Thursday March 6 at Stephenson Court, Kilsby.
Daventry Sergeant Paul Valentine said: “This is a great opportunity for the police, fire and rescue and Daventry Volunteer Centre to work together to find new volunteers for our respective organisations. Across the three organisations there are many different opportunities for people to volunteer and there is something to fit all types of experience and background. Volunteering is an excellent way to give something back to your community, develop new skills, get back into work, meet new people or even pursue a new career.”
