Pupils from Woodford Halse Primary School get in touch with Iganga via Skype

Children  from  Woodford  Halse  Primary School enjoyed Skyping friends in their link school in Iganga, Uganda.

This was set up through Daventry Friends of Iganga, who have encouraged their 15 link schools to video chat over Skype with their partner school.

The children talked about their favourite food, their uniform and told each other stories, and even sang a song together across two continents.

The primary children in Iganga have to walk to their nearest secondary school and then crowd around a single laptop for the Skype chat.

The children in Woodford Halse on the other hand watched the whole link up on the big screen in their classroom.

The English pupils were told the Ugandan children went home “happier and excited and cannot wait for next time”.
