Verdict due on 15 homes

A planning application that could see up to 15 new homes in Byfield has been recommended for approval.

The plans drawn up by Davidsons Developments would see the homes built in Banbury Lane in the village.

Planning officers based at Daventry District Council have recommended the application for approval.

Byfield Parish Council has called on the plans to be thrown out saying it is over-development of the site and leads to inadequate positioning of some properties and to loss of promised and expected public open space.

It also raised concerns about the toxic content of the soil on the site and concerns about child safety with regards to the infiltration pond.

There has also been complaints from neighbours of the site who state that more landscaping is required on the communal parking area.

The neighbours also say the development is not in keeping with the character of the surrounding properties.

The plans will be determined at a meeting of the council’s planning committee to be held at 6.15pm on Wednesday at the council’s offices in Lodge Road.
