Tyre firm set for major expansion

A MAJOR Daventry employer is set to expand.

Hankook Tyre UK, based on Fawsley Drive on the Heartlands industrial estate, is growing its UK distribution facilities by opening a second warehouse in town, providing an additional 150,000 square feet.

The new warehouse in Nasmyth Road on the Heartlands, will be opened by a VIP guest, yet to be confirmed.

Global brand Hankook originated in South Korea, and has based its UK headoffice in Daventry since 1997.

The company says continual increase in market share and brand awareness in the UK has led to the need for the additional facilities, which include warehousing and offices.

It also means the company is expanding its workforce – in the last month alone Hankook has employed four new staff at its Daventry office.

Hankook is a recognised supplier of equipment for many of the world’s leading car manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Lincoln, MINI, Renault, Toyota, and VW Group.
