Thousands for village causes

A TOTAL of £6,000 has been donated to various organisations in Weedon following the village’s jubilee celebrations.

The three-day weekend laid on entertainment for all ages including street parties, duck races and live music.

Organisations to benefit include Weedon Sports Association, Weedon Football Clubs, Weedon Village Hall, Friends of Weedon School, Weedon Scouts, Weedon WI, Fireworld, Weedon Brownies, Weedon Church, Weedon Chapel, Weedon Preschool and Weedon History Society.

Tony Wincott, one of the committee members who organised the celebrations, said: “It was great to see the sense of community at the jubilee weekend and wonderful that we have raised funds for several groups.”
