Teenager dies in car crash on the A361

A FATAL road accident happened on Saturday on the A361 north of Ashby St Ledgers.

The crash took place at 4.50pm on the road towards Kilsby, when for reasons yet unknown a green Ford Focus was in collision with a black Range Rover.

As a result of the collision a 19-year-old woman from Coventry, who was a passenger in the Focus, died at the scene.

The 24-year-old man who was driving the Focus was airlifted to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry where he remains in a critical condition.

The 64-year-old man driving the Range Rover was taken to Northampton General Hospital but was later released.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this crash.
