Take a look round Daventry's local crematorium and grounds

Rainsbrook Cemetery and Crematorium holds an open day this Saturday, July 30.

The open day gives visitors the chance to take a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the crematorium and its grounds, and talk to staff about the cremation process.

The open day also includes memorial hand-carving demonstrations and the chance to see a historic hand-pulled bier together with a range of modern hearses and limousines.

Rainsbrook Cemetery and Crematorium was built by Rugby Borough Council and Daventry District Council, and opened in the spring of 2014.

Located off Rugby’s Ashlawn Road, the crematorium overlooks the Rainsbrook Valley and its landscaped grounds include memorial gardens and an Armed Forces Memorial Wall.

Rugby Borough Council’s bereavement services team run the crematorium and were recently awarded the ‘gold standard’ under the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management’s Charter for the Bereaved.
