Success for new owners of leisure centre
The figures are in and only eight months into a ten year contract and the number of people enjoying a membership at Daventry Leisure Centre has more than doubled.
The figures, which were released by Everyone Active at the end of February, show that membership has increased to 1700 from only 675 in July 2012 when the contract began.
Cllr Alan Hills, community, culture and leisure portfolio holder at Daventry District Council, said: “It’s fantastic news that the number of members enjoying the new facilities at the leisure centre has doubled to nearly 2,000 since last summer.
“It shows that Everyone Active are doing a great job in encouraging people in the district to get fit and healthy.”
Commenting on the figure, Luke Parratt, contract manager for Everyone Active in Daventry, said: “We have been listening to what our members have been telling us and working closely with them to develop programmes of activity that will increase the usage of the leisure centre.
“These figures demonstrate that we are getting it right for many of our customers and we intend to keep on listening and adding new and exciting changes to the centre in the future.”
