Many prominent local people will be putting on sequins and glitter when they line up to appear in this year’s Strictly Daventry.

It has been organised by the Kate Fisher Dance Academy and takes place at 8pm on Saturday, July 5 at Daventry Leisure Centre.

Among those taking part include Chris Miller, leader of Daventry District Council, Rita Reeves, Matron of Danetre Hospital, Russell Dabb, department manager at Waitrose in Daventry and Iain Osbourne, manager at Osbournes Engineers. Rhiannan White, Emily Allibone, Harriet Tolhurst, Lottie Mann, Lucy Ashwell, Libby Kirk, Sheldon Kane, Toby Young and Ryan Brown will be helping the dancers.

Funds raised will be donated to the Friends of Danetre Hospital and Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

Kate Fisher said: “All the contestants are performing challenging routines and it’s been great turning people who thought they could never dance into real dancers. I can’t wait for everyone to see them perform.”

The winner, chosen by the audience, will receive the Strictly Daventry 2014 trophy donated by Bishops Court Cobblers while JR Press have supplied tickets and programmes. Luke Parratt, the manager of Daventry Leisure Centre, has provided the Centre free of charge for both the event and for training facilities.

Tickets can be booked by calling 07779 892508 or emailing kate.fisher@kfda.co.uk.
