THE Grange school celebrated the heavy snow this week by having a snow sculpture competition for the children on Tuesday afternoon.

Each year group worked in teams to create the best sculpture with class 3KO (Mrs Oliver’s class) scooping the prize of 10 house points for each child.

Assistant headteacher Amanda Johnson said: “The children had missed out on their break time at the beginning of the week because of the weather and they have been really well behaved.

“The competition was a kind of reward for being so good and it encouraged team building within the classes which they really responded to.”

The children could use whatever resource they could find to create their sculptures as long as they worked together as a class.

The competition was judged by the Grange headteacher Gaynor Yates who decided a Harry Potter-inspired snowman, made using sticks to create a wand and decorated with a scarf, was the winning sculpture.
