Ofsted has judged Guilsborough Primary School to be good following a recent inspection.

The school was given the mark by the Government inspector and was good in the last inspection in 2011.

Outgoing headteacher Tony Henretty said: “I am absolutely delighted with the verdict. I am particularly pleased the teaching of Year Two and Six children was judged to be outstanding.

“The standards that Ofsted judge schools by have increased dramatically and I think for us to obtain a good was excellent.

“I am very pleased that we had the inspection just before my retirement because it means I can go out with my head held high knowing that it is a good school.

“There are one or two areas for improvement but I am sure this will be worked on and make it an even better school.”

Ofsted also judged the school to be good in the areas of pupils’ achievement, quality of teaching, pupils’ behaviour and the leadership and management of the school.
