THE Santa Sleigh visited Daventry Country Park prior to Christmas.

The sleigh, organised by Danetre Rotary Club, was enjoyed by lots of children who expressed their wishes for the festive period.

The event, which was held on Friday December 21, was organised in conjunction with Daventry District Council (DDC) who maintain the country park.

DDC’s customer services manager, Katie Jones, said: “The Santa’s Stop at the country park was great.

“It went really well and was very popular as dozens of families came to meet Father Christmas and see his sleigh.

“All the children received a free gift and lots of people took part in the Hunt the Reindeer competition.

“It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and getting into the Christmas spirit.”

The Santa Sleigh is organised every year by the Rotary club and visits locations across the area collecting money for a number of local organisations and charities.
