Youngsters will get the chance to meet Father Christmas when he makes a special stop at Daventry Country Park later this month.

Santa Claus will be flying in from the North Pole to meet children at the park’s visitors’ centre.

He is due to arrive from 10am to noon on Monday December 23.

Santa’s Stop has been arranged with the help from organisations including Daventry District Council, Danetre Rotary Club, Evolution PR and the Friends of Daventry Country Park.

Every child who gets the chance to meet Santa will receive a small, free gift for turning up to greet him.

Youngsters can also take part in a special Santa Quiz Trail during his visit to the park, off Northern Way, Daventry.

Cllr Alan Hills, who is the district council’s community, culture and leisure portfolio holder, said: “This is the second year that Santa has taken a couple of hours out of his busy schedule to visit Daventry Country Park.

“Last Christmas hundreds of children got the chance to meet Father Christmas and we expect this year’s visit to be even better.”

Daventry Disyrict Council has also warned that families visiting Santa’s Stop are reminded to make sure they wrap up in warm clothes.

All youngsters that go along to meet him must be accompanied by an adult.
