Danetre Rotary Club has made a £250 donation in a bid to help bringJago Worall back to his Welton home and reunite him with his family permanently.

The cheque was handed over on Saturday and follows some fundraising initiatives by the club.

Two-year-old Jago had an accident at the family home where he nearly drowned in a pond. He was left with severe brain injuries and has been receiving treatment at a specialist centre in Surrey.

His parents Barney and Lyn are now looking to bring him home and make sure he can receive the round the clock care and specialist treatment he needs.

The family are looking to raise £200,000 in a bid to pay for the home care.

Last weekend Jago spent the weekend at home with his mum and dad as well as older brothers Riley and Ferdie.

Mr Worrall said: “It is fantastic, each time he is home, we see some differences in Jago in his awareness of the family home, and aware of when his brothers are playing as well.

“He is a lot calmer in his surroundings as well.

“It is very useful for us having him home so we can plan and anticipate his requirements for when we hope to bring him home for good. We are hoping for the end of the month.”

Mr Worrall was also keen to emphasise the difference having Jago home was making to them as a family.

He said: “It makes a massive difference having him here because it means thatboth myself and Lyn are at home.

“If Jago is in Surrey, then one of us is down there which means his brothers Riley and Ferdie essentially have a single parent around and we have been doing this for a year which is not ideal for them or us.”

The Jago Worrall Foundation, set up by his family to help the two-year-old, has been adopted by the Gusher as our chosen charity for the year and is organising a series of events to raise funds. Anyone who wishes to donate to the foundation can do so by visiting www.justgiving.com/thejagoworrallfoundation, texting Jago50 to 70070 at a cost of a £1 or drop into the Daventry Express offices in High Street, Daventry and donate.
