Reward for lost wedding ring

A 68-year-old cancer sufferer is offering a £50 reward for the safe return of her wedding ring which she lost in Daventry town centre on Monday.

Janice Ransford suffers from pins and needles and cold hands due to undergoing chemotherapy for her terminal bowel cancer which has spread to her liver and lungs. As a result she wears gloves in the cold weather.

Mrs Ransford believes her wedding ring may have slipped off her fingers when removing the gloves while shopping between the library, Superdrug and Clarks in the town.

She said: “The ring means a great deal to me, I have been married 45-and-a-half years.

“My husband Bert proposed to me in 1965 after only knowing me a week. I didn’t accept right away but I did eventually.”

The couple are offering a £50 reward to anyone who finds the ring as it has great sentimental value.

“I would really like it back and would be grateful to anyone who finds it.”

The ring is a gold band with acorns engraved on it.

Anyone who finds it may return it to the Daventry Express office in High Street for Mrs Ransford to collect and to give the reward.
