Recognition for gardens
A presentation to James and Karen Lowther, owners of Holdenby House, by George Plumptre, chief executive of the National Gardens Scheme, in recognition of them being one of the original gardens that opened in 1927.
HOLDENBY House has been recognised with a commemorative plaque to mark 85 years of its gardens being opened to the public.
The house was one of only 120 gardens which open under the National Gardens Scheme to receive the plaque, which celebrates those opened every year since the inaugural year of the scheme in 1927.
Chief executive of the National Gardens Scheme George Plumptre presented the plaque to current owners Mr and Mrs James Lowther.
The house opens to the public between 1pm and 5pm on Sunday, August 19.
