A SPORT Relief Mile event will be held in Daventry on Sunday, March 23.
The event, organised by Everyone Active, will give participants the option of completing a one-, three- or six-mile course, setting off from the Leisure Centre in Lodge Road and heading around the Eastern Way playing field.
By entering the event and getting sponsored people can help transform the lives of people living in the UK as well as in some of the world’s poorest countries, and join in with a national event.
Everyone Active is also looking for volunteers to help with the smooth running of the day. Duties may include marshalling the course, or registering runners.
Volunteers are needed from 9am to 2pm and do not need any particular skills or qualification. They will each receive a voucher for a bacon butty and hot drink ready for the 9am breakfast briefing.
Martine Crofts, activity and sports development manager at Daventry Leisure Centre, said: “This is the fifth time the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile has come to Daventry, so let’s don the headband, get training and show the rest of the country what we can do.
“Make it a special day and bring the whole family. Run, walk, dress up, and raise a smile for Sport Relief 2014.”
