A VILLAGE school is one of scores of places across the area to host a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan in the coming days.

Weedon Bec Primary School will have cakes made by parents, entertainment from the children, and a raffle. Prizes include those donated by Northampton Saints and Cobblers.

Last week the school had a visit from a representative of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Headteacher Antony Witheyman said: “This will be our fourth year holding a coffee morning for Macmillan.

“We raised about £400 last year which meant we were one of the top 100 fundraisers in Northamptonshire.

“It’s important for the children to know why we are raising the money and what it goes towards. This year the money is going to the Macmillan haematology unit at Northampton General Hospital which makes it very real for the children.”

Weedon Bec Primary School’s coffee morning runs from 9.30am to 11.30am tomorrow (Friday).
