YOUNGSTERS at Falconer’s Hill Infant School in Daventry have been looking after hardboiled eggs - but all in the name of learning.

Every child turned their egg into a character and took responsibility for it over a week-long period.

They also kept a diary of their egg character’s adventures, visiting places like shops, restaurants and the park with their families.

The children’s ideas included Super Egg, Santa Claus, baby Jesus and a vampire. It culminated in an ‘Eggsibition’ in the school hall where all the eggs were gathered.

Headteacher Coleen Wilkins said: “We have been greatly impressed with the ingenuity of our families and the imagination they have shown creating the egg characters.

“They have displayed a great sense of responsibility and had lots of fun ensuring the eggs have been well taken care of. The whole challenge has certainly been an enormous success.’
