PEOPLE looking for an unusual Valentine’s Day gift for their partners can look no further than a village pub.
Villagers who have taken over the running of The Fox and Hounds in Charwelton are offering people the chance to buy shares in the pub as a special gift that people can buy for their significant other.
The person behind the idea Toni Miller said: “This is the perfect gift if you are stuck for a Valentines gift for the man who has everything.
“It is a quirky fun idea and it will pay 3.5 % dividend, with savings rates having just been lowered it’s a great investment too!
“The minimum is £250 however this can be spread over 10 months at £25.”
The pub closed its doors towards the end of 2012, and was then sold at auction to a developer. But the local community was then given the chance to buy their pub. After some fundraising, the village pub group took possession of the building in December and are working to reopen it.
Volunteers have been working inside the building to get it ready for the grand opening.
No official date has yet been set by the villagers behind the pub for its re-opening.
