There was plenty of fun for all generations at a Picnic in the Park event on a Daventry estate.
The annual event, organised by Southbrook Community Association, took place on the playing field of the Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village.
Among the activities were arts and crafts, large family games, circus skills, Talking Rhythms African drumming workshop, face-painting, and a bouncy castle.
There was also a chance for a free family portrait taken at a pop up photo booth.
Hundreds of people supported the event which has pleased the organisers.
Emma Barnsley, one of the association’s trustess, said: “It was a lovely event and we were pleased with the amount of people that turned up. It was great the weather held up as well.
“What was really pleasing was to see the different generations of all the families who came down.
“It wasn’t just mums and dads with their children, it was grandparents, aunties and uncles.
“It is a really important event for the estate because a lot of people get the chance to meet their neighbours with this and forge a community spirit. It’s why we continue to fundraise to make the event free.”
