Patchwork challenge
The West Haddon community is celebrating its newly improved relationship after a great jubilee season.
Families in the village have been working together more closely since a street party for the royal wedding of William and Catherine last year and are now embarking on a project which will see their community preserved in patchwork.
Each family in West Haddon has been asked to take a photograph of themselves and mount it onto a piece of fabric to form a quilt which will then be displayed in the village.
Involved in the ‘history in the making project’ Wendy Raybould said: “We had a really lovely jubilee and it just sparked something for the people here.
“The idea is to have a project that everyone can get involved in, on a number of different levels and for people to feel that West Haddon really has a community.”
Wendy said people had already been very responsive to the project and photographs had already started coming in along with notes from families about living in West Haddon.
The group hope to complete the quilt by the end of 2012.
