Paedophile who sexually assaulted young girl in Northamptonshire given 12-year jail sentence

A paedophile who sexually assaulted a young girl in Northamptonshire has been given a 12-year jail sentence.

John Williams, aged 69, appeared at Northampton Crown Court after admitting engaging in sexual activity with a young child.

Williams pleaded guilty to the charge against him at Northampton Crown Court in December.

Her Honour Judge Adrienne Lucking sentenced Williams, of no fixed abode, to 12 years in prison. He is likely to serve half before being released on licence. He will be on the sex offenders register for life.
