New web app for council’s services
DAVENTRY District Council has launched a new free web app for mobile devices.
Residents can now find out about DDC’s information and services whenever they are out and about using their smartphone, iPhone, iPad or tablet. Information is tailored to the user of the app, such as details of their bin collection day and contacts for their local councillors.
People can also report a range of issues to the council directly by simply tapping on a map, including litter, graffiti and flytipping, noise and smoke complaints.
Cllr Jo Gilford, access and communication portfolio holder at DDC, said: “It’s free, simple to use and links directly to the council’s other IT systems so residents’ service requests and queries will immediately reach the right council teams for action.
“Initially the most popular services and information have been added, however we intend to continue developing the app to ensure its content reflects the needs of residents.”
