New village group launches for adult learners

A NEW Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) group has been formed in Nether Heyford.

The group is now offering its first course, on Curios and Collectables, starting on Thursday, January 17 at 2pm at Heyford Baptist Church Rooms.

The course is described as ideal for those who enjoy the Antiques Roadshow, Flog It or going to flea markets or auctions.

Tutor Peter Edwards will cover a wide range of items including furniture, ceramics, glass, silver, clocks and textiles and will look at how items were originally made and how expert valuers determine how much they are now worth.

The six-week course costs £31.50 but is free to anyone on an income-related benefit or a low income.

The WEA is a national charity offering adult education courses throughout the UK and has a variety of courses available around Northamptonshire.

For more information telephone Bridget Chapman on 01604 813445.
