New interim principal appointed at Daventry school

A Daventry school appointed a new interim principal on Monday.

On Monday the Daventry UTC board of governors announced Russell Ball will take over in an interim role from former principal David Edmondson who has led the school from when it was first created.

Chairman of the Daventry UTC board of governors, Professor Nick Petford, said: “The Daventry UTC board of governors is delighted that the college has been providing an excellent standard of education to children in Daventry and the surrounding area as demonstrated in the rates of progress which the pupils have demonstrated in the 2015 public examinations and in assessments undertaken so far this academic year.

“After leading the college since its launch in 2013, David Edmondson has asked to be released from his role as principal in order to be able to pursue new opportunities. The Daventry UTC board of governors wish David every success for the future.”

Russell Ball, UTC’s new interim principal said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to take over from Mr Edmondson who has been an inseparable part of the UTC even long before the construction commenced.

“I have worked with Daventry UTC in the past on a number of occasions, therefore I am very happy to be able to work with fantastic teachers and students, here at the UTC.”

Anybody who wishes to meet the new Interim Principal is invited to attend UTC’s open evening on Wednesday June 22 from 4.30pm to 7pm.
