New cinema, supermarket and petrol station planned for Daventry

A BRAND new five-screen cinema is on the cards for Daventry as part of plans for a new £50 million shopping centre in the heart of town.

If given the go ahead the cinema will form part of Mulberry Place, the retail-led development proposed for land north of High Street which will also include a new library.

A new supermarket and petrol station are also being planned as Daventry District Council’s (DDC) vision to regenerate the town centre gathers pace this summer.

DDC’s development partner Henry Boot Developments Limited is due to submit plans in July, following a public consultation in June.

For more on this, including reactions and an image of the proposed cinema, see the Daventry Express.
