Daventry District Councillors are being given a helping hand with the latest technology to report issues in their communities.

The council’s contractor Enterprise has issued GPS cameras to a councillor in each ward in the latest move to make services more interactive.

The new cameras will help ensure feedback and complaints on environmental issues by councillors can be dealt with quicker as images of the problems will be linked to their exact location electronically.

Cllr Jo Gilford, DDC access and communication portfolio holder, said: “In this digital age, where technology can help us to process information more quickly and accurately, these GPS cameras will prove really useful for councillors undertaking their everyday duties.

“Residents can also go online to immediately pinpoint and report a wide range of issues via our website and the launch of our new app will also enable them to do this on the move.”

To report a range of issues, including instances of graffiti, litter and fly-tipping, missed bins, grass, hedge and tree cutting, visit DDC’s website.
