Motorist should avoid A5

Motorists are being advised to avoid the A5 this afternoon following a road traffic collision.

The collision took place at around 1pm at Fosters Booth and involved a car and a van.

As a result the car collided with the Red Lion pub and a large amount of diesel has been spilt across the road.

The A5 between Weedon and Towcester has been closed and will remain closed until the fuel has been cleared from the carriageway.
