The countdown continues for the grand finale to the Gusher’s year of fundraising in aid of the Jago Worrall Foundation.
Tickets are now on sale for our Festive Charity Gala, at Fawsley Hall, on November 15.
And ensuring the night runs smoothly will be Master of Ceremonies, Garry Smith. He will be making announcenents throughout the night and running part of the charity auction.
Mr Smith, who lives in Milton Keynes, discovered his new vocation when he was a guest at a wedding.
He said: “The wedding was not exactly very organised and I thought it needed someone to take charge and let people know what was going on.
“It went well and I thought I’d look at how to become a toastmaster. It is something I have always wanted to do, but wasn’t sure how to go about it.
“The best thing about being a toastmaster is seeing the smile on people’s faces during the event and knowing you have helped to make their evening run smoothly.
“It is great to be able to support a charity and I try to do as much of it as I possibly can.
“It is obviously a very worthwhile cause and that is the reason I wish to support this event.”
The Festive Charity Gala aims to raise vital funds for two-year-old Jago Worrall, from Welton, who was left severely brain-damaged after an accident last year in which he nearly drowned.
The gala will take place in the Knightly Suite, arrival from 7pm.
The evening includes a four-course festive menu, live dancing to the band and an auction with the chance to bid on an exclsuive range of signed sporting and showbiz memorabilia.
Tickets cost £65pp with the option of bringing a gift for under the Christmas tree which will later be passed on to Northampton General Hospital children’s ward.
There is also the option of accommodation on the night at a specially reduced rate of £150 per room (based on two people sharing and to include full English breakfast). The standard rate is normally £250.To book, call 01327 708288.
