Yelvertoft Primary School, May Day celebrations.

THERE was royal fun at primary schools in Crick and Yelvertoft crowned their May Queen and Kings.

The event, held at Crick Primary School on Saturday, May 26, raised more than £1,000 which will be spent on classroom computers and enhancing the school grounds.

Headteacher Jan James said: “Sunny weather contributed to a great atmosphere where families enjoyed our programme of traditional Maypole and country dancing.”

At Yelvertoft, the event on Wednesday, May 30, saw a procession and maypole dancing.

Headteacher Julie Walsh said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed it, especially doing some of the different dances.”
