A resident at a care home in Daventry is celebrating her 103rd birthday today (Thursday).
ay Richardson lives at the Evelyn Wright home in Badby Road, Daventry.
She was born back in 1911, before the sinking of the Titanic, before the outbreak of the First World War and at a time when, in the UK, women could neither put themselves forward to become an MP or vote for one either.
May said: “I am not feeling too bad for 103, I am looking forward to it.
“I don’t know what I am going to be doing to celebrate.
“I will probably have some friends come up and see me. I might have some cake and a little party.
“I never even thought that I might get to this age.”
Sarah Holland, manager of the home said: “May has been with us for about two-and-a-half years and she is an absolutely lovely lady.
“It is very exciting to have a big birthday to look forward to and we are all very pleased.”
