Man dies after road accident

A MAN has died after he was hit by a car on the A45 this morning.

The accident happened at around 6am on the bypass at Stefen Way.

The man who died is 46 and from Rugby. He was hit by a blue Renault Laguna estate car which was travelling from the direction of Northampton.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “We are still investigating, but it’s believed the man who died had stopped his van and got out to check something before he was hit by a passing vehicle.”

The road is still currently closed at the A361 junction into Daventry, from Woodford Halse.

Police are advising drivers to avoid the area.
