Man trapped following accident on the M1

FIREFIGHTERS released a man who was trapped in his van following an accident on the M1 on Saturday night.

It happened at 10.30pm on the M1 southbound between Watford Gap and junction 16. Fire crews from Long Buckby and Northampton attend the single vehicle accident. He was released an hour later and taken to hospital.

The van contained several gas cylinders but these caused no danger in the accident.
