Man attacked in Daventry in apparent road rage incident

A man was assaulted by another motorist after parking his car in Daventry town centre.

Police say the 50-year-old victim was driving along St James Street when he was followed very closely by another car.

The victim parked his car at the end of St James Street, near Waterloo, when a man got out of the other car and assaulted him.

The alleged offender was white, around 30, 5ft 9ins and of stocky build. He had shaven dark hair and was wearing a blue padded jacket. Prior to the assault he was in a black Ford Puma with a woman who was also about 30 years old, 5ft 10ins, of slim build, with shoulder length blonde hair.

The incident took place at some time between 10.30am and 11am on Friday, April 15. Northamptonshire Police released the details today – Monday April 25.
