Staff and pupils at Newnham Primary School took part in a launch day to celebrate becoming an academy.

The school recently joined the David Ross Education Trust (DRET).

Past pupils were invited to visit and share their experiences and the hall was filled with a timeline of photos and log books dating back to the 1890s.

Mr King, who attended Newnham in the 1940s, was interviewed by children, providing an insight into school life 70 years ago.
