People across the Daventry district are gearing up for the fourth arts festival to be held over the next two weeks.
The festival fortnight has been organised by Daventry & District Housing (DDH) in partnership with a range of local organisations and begins on Saturday, July 5 until Sunday, July 20. The festival will feature more than 40 art and craft activities including a mixture of music, dance, theatre and exhibitions showcasing local talent.
Many of the events and activities are completely free of charge, including a jam-packed launch event. Taking place at Daventry Leisure Centre from 12.30pm on July 5, the launch will feature demonstrations of dance, theatre, martial arts, bell ringing, toddler sessions, crafts and painting, with a chance to take part. There will also be song writing studio time with Amy Clayton, the chance to try Taekwondo with Daventry Tigers and face painting.
Other highlights include the return of the Strictly Daventry ballroom dancing competition run by Kate Fisher Dance Academy, a performance by Heartless Prince Production , various art and design workshops and concerts by the Daventry Choral Society, Daventry Brass and The JuditSingers.
There will also be plenty of engaging activities for children of all ages, including YouthPod and ToddlePod sessions provided by the Khameleon Kompany.

“It provides such a fantastic showcase of the creative talent that Daventry possesses and ensures two weeks of fantastic entertainment for the local community.”
