CAN we raise enough money? Yes we can!
The Playhouse Nursery is one step closer to its goal of buying a play construction site for the children thanks to a Bob the Builder competition.
Sheila Broadfield, nursery manager, said: “We wanted to do this because it represented what we were raising money for.”
The competition, which raised £254 of the £278 needed, had the children painting their best Bob the Builder and getting their parents and people at home to sponsor them.
Daventry Express reporter, Gemma Ellis, was invited to judge the competition.
The money raised has allowed the nursery to buy the cement mixer, trowels and foam breeze blocks.
“We do have some things for the construction site already but it’s not complete and we want to have all the toys and tools for the children to play with,” said Mrs Broadfield.
First place went to Jayden Brown, age three; Emilie-Mai Hudson-Taylor, four, took second and Emily Trayford, three, won third place. There was a small prize given to each child that took part in the competition.
