Police are investigating after human remains were uncovered near Long Buckby railway station.
The investigation is on railway land and is being led by British Transport Police, who currently believe the remains are ‘historical’ – no further information is available on how old they are.
Although the remains were found in early March, the details have only just been released after an investigation was carried out to establish whether they were recent human remains.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP officers are investigating following the discovery of historical human remains close to Long Buckby rail station.
“The discovery was made on Wednesday, March 5 and officers are working with Northamptonshire Police to establish the nature of the remains and how long they have been present.”
