A CHEQUE has been handed over by local Freemasons to a Daventry- based charity.

A total of £3,000 was handed over to the Friends of Danetre Hospital which aims to help provide equipment to the hospital in the town.

The money was made up with £500 each from the Daventry-based Coritani, Danetre and Buckby Castle Lodges. This was alongside a £1,500 donation from the Provincial Grand Charity for Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire.

The cheque was handed over to the Friends on Friday, December 21.

Graham Ballinger, of Buckby Castle Lodge, said: “We endeavour to make an annual donation to a local charity.

“We in the Daventry area are very fortunate to have the wonderful facility that is Danetre Hospital.

“We are well aware of what the Friends of Danetre Hospital is doing to enchance the standard of amenities and comfort of both patients and staff.”
